RESEARCH LOG - SEPTEMBER 8, 2026

The official cemetery operator resolves the location as New Haven, with a separate West Haven managing office. The Saint Bernard cemeteries at Enfield and Rockville were excluded.

New Haven Museum MSS 23 finding aid was read and its table of contents visually checked. The Saint Bernard pages and name index are acquisition targets, not obtained records. MSS 80 Box 26 was identified separately.

Internet Archive 1902 New Haven County biographical volumes 1-3 were searched; no usable explicit Saint Bernard cemetery reference was identified. The 1900 diocesan history yielded the five included pages. Scan numbers follow the XML usemap and matching IIIF image, not a guessed printed-page offset.

Aronsen et al. article and S1 were downloaded from the publisher. All 605 numbered table rows were extracted across six pages and reconciled to sequential source numbers. Fields preserve raw dates and uncertainty. Only the two explicit Saint Bernard marker cross-references were also represented in the cemetery reference set. They remain labeled as related marker references.

The state index API was queried for CITY = NEW HAVEN, with count 242757. Nine batches ordered by source row ID returned that count. No deduplication or date repair was performed. This is a research-date extract, not a real-time index.

Find a Grave memorial pages and contributed images were not downloaded; selected indexed facts are marked as unverified leads. BillionGraves and WikiTree were retained as additional discovery routes. No false count of graves was inferred from community memorial totals.

Shanachie PDFs were unavailable in this session; catalog and landing-page references are included. Copyrighted modern photographs and complete obituaries were not copied. Original certificates, burial permits, internal plot maps, complete Hale pages and newspaper clippings were not obtained. No requests were sent and no fees incurred.

Final checks reconciled dataset counts, IDs, local evidence links, PDF images/text, workbook sheets, SQLite integrity and full-text search.
