DATA DICTIONARY

Cemetery records: id is a stable SGC identifier; birth/death preserve source precision; section and lot are source-reported clues, never coordinates. source_id joins the source catalog; source_url points to the evidence; files lists included supporting files.

Related Christ Church table: source_record preserves the original S1 row number, NOT an individual grave number. month, day and year are raw source fields; two-digit years generally represent the 1800s but unknown ? and * values are retained. The table calls these chronological burial records; do not automatically turn all dates into certified death dates. age is source text, including fractional years and m/d suffixes. recoded_cause is the authors’ historical coding, not a modern diagnosis. source_page is the 1-based PDF page.

State index: firstname, lastname, date, city are exactly the supplied fields; date retains source strings, generally YYYY-MM-DD; invalid and missing dates are not corrected. city = NEW HAVEN does not mean Saint Bernard. Source row ordering was used for pagination, not to infer dates.

Candidate matches: generated only for exact surname and exact date; identity is not established. Broaden to surname variants, nearby dates and other Connecticut towns when appropriate.

All sources were accessed September 8, 2026. FTS search contains separate dataset tags; do not combine their totals as burials.
