MARY “MIDNIGHT MARY” HART — SGC DIGITAL ARCHIVES
Accession SGC-MH-003. Research edition September 8, 2026.

Extract the ZIP, then open START_HERE.html. Its search, filters and included scans work offline. Publisher and repository links require internet access. No software installation is required.

Contents: 37 catalog entries; six historical page images; five factual extracts from Evergreen's current burial search; monument transcription; selected OCR and checked transcriptions; newspaper/photo/audio/map links; missing-record routes; PDF research guide; JSON catalog; SQLite FTS database; six unsent request drafts; provenance and checksums.

This is an initial documented research collection, not an exhaustive set of all surviving records. No original Mary Hart death certificate, burial permit, interment ledger, 1872 newspaper obituary or authenticated lifetime portrait was obtained. Modern newspaper and photo content is linked, not copied. The 1873 marriage notice is search-index evidence; no page scan was retrieved.

Evergreen's Died field says 10/18/1872; the monument says October 15, 1872. Preserve this unresolved difference. A Yale obituary says Mary E. Pierpont survived James Porter Hart in 1877; that conflicts with identifying her without explanation as Midnight Mary. No family relationship should be inferred from adjacent plots alone. Folklore is labeled separately from historical evidence.

Catalog.txt contains the catalog plus included page text. catalog.json contains one object per stable MH identifier. Mary_Hart.sqlite contains items and items_fts tables. Example SQL:
SELECT id,title FROM items_fts WHERE items_fts MATCH 'Pierpont';

Cite: Silent Grounds Collective, Mary “Midnight Mary” Hart collection, SGC-MH-003, [item ID and title], September 8, 2026; then the item's original source, page and access date.

Six nineteenth-century page images are public domain in the United States. Retain publication and digitizing repository credits. Original research annotations are prepared for SGC educational use; linked modern works retain their own rights. The SGC logo is a contemporary bookplate, not historical evidence. SHA256SUMS.txt covers every package file except itself.
